2025 Cover Our Campus In Prayer
I am excited to share details about this year’s Cover Our Campus in Prayer event, happening Sunday, August 10 at 6:00 PM across all school campuses in the School District of Oconee County.
This annual gathering is a community-led effort inviting parents, students, teachers, pastors, law enforcement and local leaders to unite in prayer for the safety, success and well-being of our students and staff as we begin a new school year.
Each campus will host a short, informal time of prayer, led by members of our faith community, focusing on peace, protection and purpose.
Thank you to all who plan to participate and support this meaningful tradition. I stand on values grounded in a school year covered in prayer is one filled with hope and strength.

The Common Sense Conservative
Against Mask Mandates in Pandemic
During the re-opening of schools in the 2021/2022 school year, I spoke out against masking children during the surge of Covid cases at the beginning of the school year. The mask policy did not pass and we kept our children un-masked for the remainder of the pandemic. In a world largely governed by state and federal bureaucratic processes, this was a huge conservative win for our county’s schools.
